Interview With Dan Lloyd Talks About Starting Up on Long Island
Castle Interactive attended Start Up Night with the Long Island Ducks a networking event for startups presented by Long Island Association (LIA), Accelerate Long Island (ALI), and Newsday Long Island. We were able to interview Dan Lloyd of ALI and discussed some great initiatives and programs that ALI has in place to assist startup companies on Long Island.
"We are blessed to have a region with a number of world-class institutions as well as a thriving business community." Lloyd explained to CEO & Owner of Castle Interactive Joe Costello. ALI's goal is to turn Long Island into a major hub for technological innovation, encouraging startups on a global scale to relocate or establish their operations on Long Island.
Some of their major efforts include their "Hot Spot Program" which along with major tax incentives, will directly fund one third of professional services for eligible companies including corporate legal, marketing, accounting, and more. You can learn more and apply on Accelerate LI's website.
Empire State Development has granted Accelerate Long Island (ALI) a funding of $1.25 million, spanning a five-year period, to oversee operations at the Long Island Innovation Hot Spot. This financial support was bestowed under the twelfth round of New York State's Economic Development Council Initiative, administered by ESD. ALI collaborates with the local business incubator network and an Advisory Board, jointly spearheaded by Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, Hofstra University ideaHUb, Long Island High Technology Incubator, New York Institute of Technology, and Stony Brook University.
